For companies that need to track the time and costs spent working on projects for their clients, solutions have either involved complex, customized software systems or inefficient paper records. Tenrox Corp. has introduced Tenrox PSA, a powerful, affordable and easy to use "workforce-optimization" software package.
The suite includes integrated modules for tracking time, office expenses and project expenses, and for creating invoices. Other modules allow workers in the field to submit time and expense records as simple e-mail messages. The modules use an interface similar to that of Microsoft Outlook, allowing users to get started with minimal training.
The suite is sold in minimum packages of five users, at $130 per user. Data is stored in Access. Versions are available that store data in SQL, Oracle or DB2 at a slightly higher cost. The suite can be installed on a network or an Intranet and can be hosted by Tenrox or rented. An Internet-based ASP version is planned.
Information collected by Tenrox PSA can be readily exchanged with external applications such as QuickBooks and Great Plains accounting programs, Microsoft Project, ACT, Outlook, Excel and other programs. The suite also includes a software development kit for users who need to extend or customize the program.
Corporate users of Tenrox PSA include AT&T, Boeing, Ericsson, IBM, Sony and Xerox. Based in Montreal, Tenrox offers the program in both English and French versions.
