Press Releases Tenrox Streamlines Internal Domestic Operations for Family Health International
Plans Are In Place to Expand Use to 1,800 Global Users and to Implement the Tenrox Workforce Planning Module
Pasadena, California - January 7, 2008
Tenrox, the leading provider of workflow-driven project workforce management solutions for the global workplace, is working with Family Health International (FHI), one of the largest and most established nonprofit international public health organizations, to increase operational efficiency. Tenrox’s involvement is part of a multi-year initiative undertaken by FHI to transition its administrative and HR management operations to a web-based environment.
The first phase has involved migrating 500 U.S. FHI staff, employees and contractors onto the Tenrox Timesheet system. Plans are in place to roll out the system throughout FHI’s locations in 35 countries in Asia and Africa, bringing nearly 1,800 users onto the Tenrox system.
The migration is already saving many hours previously spent on what was a mostly manual in-house time tracking system. Expectations are that once the Tenrox system is in place globally, it will help facilitate a much more strategically oriented decision-making process.
"The new system has been very easy to use and has allowed us to automate what was a very time-consuming process," said Ilona Sher, Director of FHI’s Enterprise Project Management Office. "Once we have Tenrox in place at all our sites around the world, we’ll also be able to create a much more comprehensive breakdown of staff activities and availability than we ever could collecting paper timesheets and Excel spreadsheets."
FHI chose Tenrox because of its Workforce Planning module and its ability to integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Project. Sher expects the system’s workforce planning capabilities to greatly enhance FHI’s ability to forecast the needs of various clinical and research projects and more efficiently match personnel to demand.
"By creating a centralized resource database, Tenrox will give us an extremely valuable tool to supplement our staff’s knowledge about the expertise available at any single location around the world," she said.
With Tenrox in place, FHI is planning to retire several legacy systems in favor of the new web-based workplace.
