Tenrox Releases “Summer Heat 2009” Powerful On-Demand Project Management Software for Effective Project Accounting and Professional Services Automation

New cost accounting and services automation functionality offers significant innovations for budgeting, service order management and billing

The new release includes substantial performance enhancements to the billing and budgeting modules, new service order management capabilities, and other improvements that enable professional services and project teams to collaborate efficiently on enterprise projects and initiatives.

New features in Tenrox Summer Heat 2009:

Detailed Budgeting
The new budgeting tool offers a dramatic increase in project budget controls and alerts. Users can now create detailed Time (billable vs. non-billable hours) budgets, and detailed Cost, billable and non-billable budgets for time, expenses, charges and products by project, task and assignment with notification and rollup capabilities.

Service Order Management
The order management feature allows the service organization to quickly create and track multiple service purchase orders (PO) per customer project. One can also track and report on service ordering billing, project billable time, expenses, products and/or charges against PO’s and setup notification thresholds.

Pre-Billing Invoice Approval
With the new pre-billing invoice approval process, a client can review and approve or reject the billable information before an invoice is actually issued. This convenient tool helps avoid after the fact billing discrepancies and to reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).

Leave Time Processing Enhancements
Date-based leave time processing rules now support simultaneous reset and accrual rules, seniority-based accrual rules, and timesheet period independent processing. Users can setup rules at the global, group, site, resource-type, and user level.

Time and Expense Management
Timesheet enhancements include quick access to all notes for a time entry; notes can be optionally enforced for billable or non-billable entries. Within the Expense tool, limits can be defined for project level and daily expenses. Within the Timesheet Manager, administrators and managers can create/change time charges based on security of all assigned timesheets and access the Timesheet History which is also available by each individual user.

Project Planning
Tenrox Project Planning enhancements include Project user defined fields, Generic Resource assignment, Task/Milestone association for more detailed reporting, planned work over-allocation notification, importing of a resource’s ETC into a plan for review before applying any changes, and flexible budget mapping options.

Reporting:

OLAP
Tenrox Reporting module includes several updates such as a simplified OLAP structure for easy cube creation and data security options.

Ad Hoc Reporting
The ad-hoc reporting tool offers several new options with quick and easy custom data view creation and extraction. In addition, it now includes client projects report scope, conditional field formatting, and the ability to filter a report on aggregated fields.

Reporting Display Areas
Reporting options are now available to display User, Groups & Project Work Plan with the Task-based Workforce Planning module, and for Project, Task and Assignment Budgets.

Additional Enhancements to Improve Performance and Usability for Project Teams
and Project Managers:

Web 2.0 Outlook Mashup allows users to view their Tenrox and Outlook bookings within a single calendar view.

SharePoint Project Workspace creation is now available during the project creation process.

New Views and Access Options:

Calendar views: A My Schedule calendar view to display tasks, Leave requests, appointments and meetings and a Project Calendar view to display all tasks of a project within a calendar.

Project Milestone View: View a list of projects and their milestones in a web part that can be added to any .NET dashboard.

Client Login: Allows one to define a security profile for client portal access so that customers can view project data and access pre-billing information online.

In addition, several recurring administrative tasks have been simplified and automated including giving the system administrator the ability to perform mass updates on organization breakdown structure objects as well as mass changes to time, expense, charge, and product entry attribute.

Availability and Pricing

Tenrox Summer Heat 2009 is now shipping and available directly from Tenrox or through the company's channel partners. The product is modular with pricing starting at $100 per user per module per year. Volume and multi-year agreement discounts are applicable.
