Corporation for Supportive Housing Selects Tenrox On-Demand Project Workforce Management Solution to Reduce Administrative Costs
Glendale, California - January 12, 2010
The Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) has selected Tenrox on-demand software to help reduce the administrative and overhead costs associated with managing the workflow, finances, and planning of its projects.
Each year, the nonprofit CSH helps communities around the country create thousands of units of housing with services to prevent and end homelessness. The organization provides advocacy, expertise, leadership, and financial resources to make it easier to create and operate supportive housing. “With millions of dollars in funding at stake, we need to ensure that projects are managed well and delivered on time and on budget. Tenrox will help us do that through better management of our human and working capital,” says David Provost, chief financial officer for CSH.
After spending two months evaluating project management software, CSH chose Tenrox from a list of three finalists because of its invoicing and financial integration capabilities, its workflow platform, and the workforce planning features. CSH will deploy the Tenrox time and expense, cost and revenue accounting, workforce planning, and analytics modules to 90 users in its workforce. The company with its headquarters in New York City, has 14 offices in 11 states and the District of Columbia.
With Tenrox, CSH will have a disciplined, structured way to capture all the data and details related to projects as well as the ability to track, monitor, and analyze any project at any time. The workforce planning tools help maximize resource allocation, and the software will help streamline billing and cost accounting processes with easy integration into the organization’s Blackbaud Financial Edge financial system.
“Many of our donors have reporting criteria that we have to track and document in order to stay eligible for financing. Tenrox gives us instant visibility into a project and lets us know where we are in each phase. We’ll also be able to more accurately track expenses associated with particular projects and more effectively process our invoices,” explains Provost.
According to Provost, the organization currently spends 20 to 30 hours a week capturing and processing data for its housing projects, and the Tenrox solution will significantly streamline processes and reduce administrative overhead. “As a nonprofit, each penny is important in achieving our mission of creating a safe and supportive environment for people who are homeless and disenfranchised,” he adds.
