Tenrox, the leading provider of on-demand project management software solutions, today announced the availability of its latest release, Winter Ice 2010.
The new release offers fully integrated project and workforce planning with an intuitive user interface empowering project managers to get their job done better and faster.

Configurable User Interface
The new interface makes it easier to get more out of Tenrox faster; users will appreciate the simple and consistent search and navigation functionality throughout the application.
New Dashboard View
A new dashboard view allows project managers to quickly and easily track or identify several project issues, risks, budgeting and billable amounts, work in progress (WIP) at a high level or at the detailed resource assignment level.
Time Management
Adjustments to time entries or charges are now manageable as a separate function with full security in the timesheet and configurable via the timesheet template.
Invoicing & Budgeting
Tenrox has further streamlined the invoicing process by enabling authorized users to adjust billable time and amounts directly from the invoice (or pre-bill) instead of having to reopen and update approved timesheets. All adjustments are audited and reflected in user timesheets.
Invoicing many customers at once is now a breeze with the new Invoice Generation Automation service; large multi-client invoicing can be scheduled for background processing and a convenient notification is sent when the batch is completed.
“Tenrox project workforce management is used to bill hundreds of millions of dollars of project work. Invoicing many customers every month is a cumbersome labor intensive process. We have designed our batch invoicing based on a lot of great user feedback. These improvements reduce manual labor, reduce errors, billing gets done faster, and our users get their job done more efficiently,” explains Rafat Hilal.
Most organizations have their own budget templates or use a budgeting application they are familiar with. The new Budget Import feature provides the capability to quickly import project, task and assignment budgets into Tenrox through an Excel import template.
Collaborative Resource and Project Planning
Tenrox Project Planning and Workforce Planning now exchange information on tasks assigned to roles (as opposed to specific users) in the project plan. You can subsequently replace/substitute the role with matching resources and automatically publish the changes to user timesheets. In addition, the resource manager is notified when a role is assigned to a specific task or when resources for a specific requested role are over capacity.
The new agile work assignment feature in Tenrox project plans allows users to request changes to their task assignments if, for any reason, they cannot complete a specific task or want to start a task earlier. This feature offers dynamic updates to the project plan by allowing a user to request a change to their assignments; the project manager can then approve or reject the request and the project plan is updated automatically.
Microsoft Project Integration
Tenrox fully supports integration with Microsoft Project Professional. Managers can publish project plans and assignments into Tenrox and update progress based on time entries tracked in Tenrox. Several options exist to configure the “publish and update” process to suit the planning process. As always Tenrox project plans and Microsoft plans are totally interchangeable. Users can import a Microsoft Project plan into Tenrox Project Planning and re-export the plan back into Microsoft Project at any time.
SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) Service
Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is an XML standard that allows secure web domains to exchange user authentication and authorization data. Tenrox now offers a new centrally managed Single Sign-On service that seamlessly integrates with your corporate SSO solution. Tenrox is fully plugged into all popular SSO solutions such as Active Directory.

Tenrox Winter Ice 2010 is now shipping and available directly from Tenrox or through the company's channel partners.
