Northwest Ohio Regional Information Systems (NORIS) Selects Tenrox to Improve Project Management

The Northwest Ohio Regional Information System (NORIS), a regional criminal justice systems integrator and information sharing system, has selected Tenrox to increase the level of automation in its time-tracking and project management operations. Based in Toledo, Ohio, NORIS serves more than 100 regional criminal justice agencies.

Until now, the organization has relied on an ad hoc combination of timesheets, emails, help desk trouble tickets, and telephone calls to allocate time and prioritize ongoing tasks. “We have basically improvised many of our efforts to track projects, which has resulted in a rather disjointed system,” says John Allen, Deputy Director. He adds, “We really need a more integrated and automated environment to comprehensively manage tasks and allocate time efficiently.”

NORIS typically has thousands of issues and projects active at any given time, ranging from help desk trouble tickets and service requests, to ongoing system maintenance issues. Because these tasks and responsibilities are so varied, there has not been an effective tool in place to create “useful measures of time and effort,” according to Mr. Allen.
