Tenrox Becomes the First Cloud-Based Project Management Solution Provider to Achieve ISO 27001 and SAS 70 Type II Certifications

The cloud-based project management solution provider is the only company in its market to obtain both ISO 27001 and SAS 70 certifications.

Tenrox on-demand center for project management software solutions was awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification by British Standards Institute (BSI), one of the world’s premier management systems registrars. This certification demonstrates the investments Tenrox has made in Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) to protect its customers’ business critical information.

In attaining ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification, Tenrox has undergone a significant security audit and change management control process review, meeting the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) requirements for operating an Information Security Management System (ISMS). ISMS is a complete set of management practices and processes that work together to preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. The certification further acknowledges Tenrox's commitment and ability to protect its customers' data, and the general security and reliability of the Software-as-a-Service model for deploying project management software solutions.

Global 2000 organizations expect ongoing assurances that their data is not at risk in order to help comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Sarbanes-Oxley requires companies to develop an information security management system and effective internal controls that are integrated, comprehensive, and incorporate widely recognized best practices. About ISO 27001

The International Standards Organization (ISO) creates stringent and rigorous standards that specify worldwide requirements for products, services, processes, materials, and systems. ISO 27001 is the new international standard created specifically for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). Many companies hold a much earlier version of the standard, ISO 9000, which speaks to the quality of information management systems. However, the ISO 27001 standard also speaks to data integrity, especially as it pertains to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification, however, is currently the only internationally accepted certificate of information security.

The Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70, Service Organizations, is a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A service auditor's examination performed in accordance with SAS No. 70 (also commonly referred to as a "SAS 70 Audit") is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control objectives and control activities, which often include controls over information technology and related processes. In today's global economy, service organizations or service providers must demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their customers. In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 audit reports even more important to the process of reporting on the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting.
