International development organization CHF International Selects Tenrox Cloud PPM for Global Project Management

CHF International (CHF), a relief and development organization based in Silver Spring, MD, has chosen Tenrox cloud-based project portfolio management (Tenrox Cloud PPM) platform and will partner with Tenrox to develop a comprehensive specialized project management solution for the NGO sector. The non-governmental organization (NGO) has a staff of approximately 2,300 in more than 25 countries providing post-conflict and natural disaster reconstruction, micro finance, community mobilization, economic development, and HIV/AIDS.

“The needs of the NGO community are very different from the commercial sector, so we’re very excited about partnering with Tenrox to create a solution tailored specifically to this market,” said Scott Yetter, Director, Office of Knowledge Management and Evaluation at CHF. “This will create an integrated project management tool that keeps track of project status including specific key performance indicators (KPIs) and captures qualitative data in addition to the standard implementation schedules and budgets,” he added.

The industry specific PPM solution will include a Project Status module to capture KPIs and to update project progress. CHF is leveraging the commercial flexibility of the system to meet specific reporting requirements such as the Tenrox Work Process Management and Expense modules for vendor contract updates and cost share, respectively.

As opposed to traditional time and resource management, Tenrox Cloud PPM’s new project status reporting module will enable CHF to track a wide spectrum of activities, ranging from progress at the local project level to regional/national program KPIs, budgets and schedules. “Tenrox gave us the closest combination of PM and KPI that we were looking. However, the NGO sector requires even more specific work which spurred the partnership to create the Project Status module. The new module will give us a comprehensive view across our programs on a local, country, regional and global scale,” explained Yetter.

Under the partnership, CHF recognized the advantage in using the Tenrox Cloud PPM to:

• Achieve global accessibility of the cloud-based platform across its multi-country portfolio of programs
• Develop a user interface for project status reporting that is easy to use and intuitive
• Eliminate manual processing
• Increase efficiency and automation of key reporting
• Increase data accuracy and availability of audit trails
• Relieve the burden on in-house resources by having Tenrox’s service teams assume responsibility for all solution maintenance, support, administration, security and updates

At the same time, Tenrox views the partnership with CHF as a strategic choice for diversifying its product for the NGO sector by leveraging the organization’s extensive experience in implementing relief and development programming worldwide.
