Nonprofit Organization The Bridgespan Group Selects Tenrox Cloud for Resource Management, Timesheet and Expense Reporting
Glendale, California - November 22, 2011
The Bridgespan Group, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help “non-profit and philanthropic leaders make strategic decisions and to build organizations that inspire and energize social change,” explains Tod Cowen, Senior Director of Finance, Bridgespan Group. The Bridgespan Group has advised a number of prominent nonprofit organizations, foundations, philanthropists and mission-driven organizations in the decade since its formation.
The company selected Tenrox cloud-based project management software (Tenrox Cloud PPM) for its resource management needs as well as for timesheet and expense reporting. Bridgespan is headquartered in Boston, MA and has offices in New York City as well as San Francisco, CA. 180 employees at all three locations will be utilizing Tenrox software.
The decision to adopt Tenrox project management software ultimately came from the growth of the company to a size where their homegrown spreadsheet-based method for both time and expense reporting and resource management was no longer efficient. Multiple systems were being used across locations, and a lot of time was wasted on manual data input – Cowen estimates that Bridgespan was losing 4 to 5 person days a month. By switching to Tenrox’s automated solution, Bridgespan expects to cut the time spent on data input by 75%, as well as a substantial improvement in data analysis.
“What initially attracted us to Tenrox was the collaborative resource management solution,” says Cowen. After a wide search, Bridgespan found that Tenrox had the best package that was able to meet their needs at a reasonable price point for an organization of their size. The two factors that set Tenrox apart from the crowd were how closely it matched their needs right out of the box, as well as the ease with which data could be entered, manipulated, changed and analyzed. Bridgespan’s number one priority was to maximize use of their resources, which they were finding difficult to do without an automated system to track progress. “Trying to manage a large group of people over a large number of assignments is something that needs to be automated and easily analyzed for efficiency of resource utilization,” says Cowen. “Our old method was inefficient and time consuming; Tenrox Cloud PPM met our needs for automation and resource management.”
