Tenrox continues to create additional value for its customers with the release of R9.1. This latest release, due out in late January 2007, is packed with a number of new features and is being released within
3 months of R9.
New in Tenrox R9.1
Tenrox Project Planning (Available in Beta release only)
Tenrox Project Planning (TPP) is a simple intuitive tool to answer the user’s basic project planning needs.
TPP base functions will include:
- Tight integration with other Tenrox modules: Projects can be published sending the project WBS, resource assignments and remaining work to Tenrox. Conversely, through project update, information such as assignments, ETC & percent complete can be retrieved from Tenrox.
- Seamless Integration with Microsoft Project: Import existing .msp files and/or export .msp files.
- GANT chart views of projects.
- Real-time project status reporting / monitoring

Project Status View
A view that displays all key project metrics in one simple screen. This information describes the general project, financial information (actuals versus forecasts versus budgets), milestones & resource utilization.
Dashboard Designer
This new dashboard designer will allow users to create custom dashboards and include elements such as Web parts, OLAP, MSRS reports, and/or grids. Easily define the number of zones and select the data pieces that can be included from the gallery of web parts or standard Tenrox reports. Provide your executives with all the information important
to them in one simple view.

Bridge the gap between your sales team and your project team with Tenrox’s new CRM integration with Microsoft CRM and Salesforce.com. These new connectors provide simple ways to create Tenrox projects, project initiation requests and/or a scope changes. Transfer data from Microsoft CRM or Salesforce.com directly into Tenrox with the click of
a button.
Keep your sales team up to date with project data. An account's Key Performance Indicators are updated from Tenrox’s project time entries, project expense entries, project charges and change requests.
Shift and Work Schedules
Shift and work schedule definition will allow organizations to easily
define rules that apply for shift work by defining and assigning all rules applicable to a work schedule by user or groups of users. Rules will include start time, end time, breaks with minimum and maximum per shifts, etc. This new feature will greatly help organizations to properly control their workforce’s time and attendance policies.

Tenrox Knowledge Base
Tenrox is pleased to announce the first release of the Tenrox Knowledge Base (KB). The Tenrox KB is a support resource for finding technical information about Tenrox services, products, and technology. This resource captures knowledge of known problems and provides troubleshooting information, articles, white papers, links to user manuals, and other useful information. It provides powerful search and retrieval methodologies to ensure that our users receive rapid, accurate, and consistent responses.
The Tenrox KB can be accessed through the customer support portal.
How To Manually Process Holidays?
The Tenrox application would normally process Holiday population via our Automation Services (also referred to as Batch Services). This automated system would check at the beginning of each timesheet period what (if any) Holidays needed to be populated and then begin the process.
Now, what if your organization requires Holidays to be populated in advance?
Tenrox has also made this functionality available to the Tenrox Administrators by simply adding a “Process” link to the Holiday Edit page. No extra configuration or setup is required, and in fact the same ‘engine’ that the Automation Service would have used, is now being manually triggered instead.
With this added flexibility, the Tenrox Administrator can now satisfy any HR policies regarding when and which Holidays need to be populated.
How to personalize the email notifications?
Default notifications tend to be very impersonal and cold. Fortunately, this does not need to be the case. Tenrox Administrators can personalize notifications for the organization in a matter of minutes.
A set of notification parameters can be imbedded into email notifications. These parameters can be easily inserted into the subject line and/or the body of the email text.
To access the list of notification parameters, use the Help menu from the Tenrox portal and access the Administrator's Guide online to find the notification parameters.
