Project Workforce 2010 Needs Next Generation Project Management Yesterday’s project management practices and organizations won’t work in today’s and tomorrow’s organizations. Delivery cycles are accelerated because customers are demanding working solutions that bring value in the short term rather than wait for a long development cycle . To be successful, project managers must shift their approach and their thinking to adapt and lead – focusing on removing barriers and enabling project teams to innovate and create successful projects – while keeping controls on costs and schedules. PMOs must change as well, becoming less autocratic and more flexible to enable this level of innovation. This session will examine the changes in project management and PMOs, focusing on organizations, processes and tools.
